Nickelsville, the roaming tent city in Seattle, is facing another move. Just last year they were in the University District before heading to Lake City. Now the nearly 100 residents are preparing for what could be their final move.

They were offered the chance to stay at their current location and they refused it because it didn’t meet their activist role.

I don’t see how cement floors and tents don’t “meet their activist role”. I’d have a hard time pitching a tent on concrete as well.

It wasn’t visible enough. They have turned down locations before for similar reasons. Nickelsville has never, ever been primarily about providing a place to stay. It is first and foremost a political statement.
