Police had to interview a man in the hospital after he says he was attacked and beaten on The Ave. It happened around 1am last Saturday (8/28) in the 4700 block of University Way. As the man was walking, he says four men suddenly jumped him, struck him in the head from behind, and knocked him to the ground. While on the ground, he was hit several more times and knocked out.
The victim had a fractured orbital bone and a fractured nose. There were no witnesses to the attack and the only description the victim could give of his attackers was that they were possibly two white men and two black men. The victim said he didn’t remember any altercation earlier in the evening that would have prompted the attack.

47th is one of the intersections where outsiders hang regularly. Maybe its time for cameras on The Ave.

I’d like to know more about the guy who was hit in the head with a shovel last night at 16th and 50th around 10:30. Was it a conflict between two transients? Was either a student?

Maybe we should just pay dues for the upkeep of a wall around the district. You know, to protect our glorious community.

And the gate can have a sign that says “Welcome to the U District, be nice or leave.”
