The People’s Harm Reduction Alliance, a U-District needle exchange that has been in operation for two decades, is now in the news for something new it’s offering. The Alliance has added crack pipes to its list of items. The group sets up in an alley behind the post office off 43rd and The Ave. KING 5 did a story on the crack pipe giveaway that you can see here.

I get why you have a needle exchange as it cuts down on the rate of HIV infection amongst heroin addicts, and that’s a good thing, but why do you need to give out crack pipes?

Their website says that the funding is all donated. I find it asinine but hey, technically, it’s not my money to blow.
